Promotion Objects

Menu/Select/Edit Change Requests/Promotions of selected Change Request/Edit Objects
 
Objects can selected from the object database to assign them to the promotion. If the object is
not in the object database yet, it can be added in this function (Add Object frame). The object is
added and directly assigned to the promotion. The description and the subdirectory are optional.

Object repository

 
Right mouse button on the right grid:
· Edit object: The object description can be edited.
· Delete object: If the object is not being used in any promotion it can be deleted from the object database
· Usage : Shows all the promotions the object is assigned to

Filter repository

 
In the object database the objects can be filtered. Object type filters with "Equal" , implementation name und objekt name filter with  "Contains"

Add object to promotion

If the object is not in the object database yet, it can be added in this function (Add Object frame). The object is
added and directly assigned to the promotion. The description and the subdirectory are optional.
 
Subdirectory
Subdirectory is used for windows objects. It allows to maintain complete subdirectory structures within a defined
directory. A subdirectory is part of the promotion object key, which allows to have the same object in different environments.
 
The following format has to be used: backslash at the beginnning, no backslash at the end

System i Import

Objects can be imported from iSeries libraries. It's possible to filter the objects by user, creation date and type.
Please use the correct date format!

Filesystem Import

Objects can be imported from Windows directories. It's possible to filer the objects by change date and object type.
Object types that are not present in the master date are not importet. The import process assumes that the extension of the object corresponds to the object type.

Objects can be directly imported from the AllFusion Plex Model. Select a list, a package or a subject area to
import the objects into the promotion. For configuration of the Plex Import Module see also: Plex Import Module

Check Promotion Objects

The follwing tests are being made in this function:
1. Check if all the objects in this promotion exist in the specified locations (directories, libraries)?
2. Check if the object is newer than the object in the target environment (if set in the general parameters)
3. For System i physical files it is tested if all the logical files based on this physical file in the target environment are assigned to the promotion.
                If not, there will be an error message, because promotion would not be possible
4. Check if there is an object conflict with an object in an other promotion (of a different change request)?

Adds a object from repository to promotion

Remove

Removes object from promotion and put it to the repository

Finish

19. Finish
If for the current user there is a user override defined for the selected application,
the system asks if the objects should be copied from the personal user environment
to the current environment. If "yes" is selected, the necessary test are applied to the
selected objects (conflicts, versions, existence, database relations)
